Following are books I strongly suggest my clients read...
 
Ina May Gaskin works as a midwife on the Farm in Tennessee.  In her book, she shares wonderful, uplifting birth stories of women that have birthed at the Farm as well as practical advice for giving birth.  The Farm midwives have an extremely low intervention rate.  Ina May shares with the world how they accomplish this goal.
The birthing community is starting to see how important it is to use your mind as a positive tool in labor.  Mind Over Labor helps teach you how to use your mind in labor through guided imagery exercises and positive affirmations. 
Birthing From Within is a wonderful book to help couples find and deal with their fears surrounding birth and pregnancy in an empowering way.  It also gives information on pain coping techniques, birth art, ways to get dads involved and much, much more.  Birthing From Within is informative and inspiring.
Active Birth teaches us why it is so important to be up and active during labor.  This book includes wonderful pictures of prenatal exercises and information on positions for labor and birth, water birth, massage and other helpful tips.
